EYFS

The curriculum in the Queen’s Park Academy Early Years is based on Foundation stage plans created by the Primary Knowledge Curriculum. We have considered the ambitious knowledge rich units and adapted these to meet to the needs of our youngest pupils. The focus on vocabulary development throughout the EYFS ensures that pupils are ready to move into Year 1 at the end of the reception year.

The Phonics Scheme used in our school is Sounds-Write.

The statutory framework sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five and is mandatory for all providers of Early Years.  It  sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to give children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
