Nursery Funding
Queen’s Park Academy and Nursery offers funded nursery places for eligible children.
Depending on your child’s age and your circumstances, you may be able to receive:
- 15 hours of funded childcare for eligible 2-year-olds
- Additional funded hours for eligible 2-year-olds, where available
- 15 hours of funded childcare for eligible 3 and 4-year-olds
- Up to 30 hours of funded childcare for eligible working families with 3 and 4-year-olds
Funding for 2-year-olds
If you would like to use 15 hours of funded childcare for your 2-year-old, you will need an 11-digit funding code.
You must apply for your funding code and give it to our nursery team before we can arrange your funded hours.

Using your funded hours
Funded places depend on:
- your child being eligible for the funding
- places and sessions being available
- the number of children and staff in the nursery
We will always try to offer sessions that meet your needs, but your preferred days and times may not always be available.
If you would like your child to attend for more hours than their funded entitlement, you can pay for additional sessions, subject to availability. These will be charged at our standard nursery rate.
All children receive the same high-quality nursery provision, whether they attend for funded hours, paid hours or a combination of both.
What parents and carers need to do
Parents and carers are responsible for providing their funding code and any other information we need by the required deadline.
You will also need to complete and sign a Parent Declaration Form each term.
We cannot process your funded hours until we have received all the required information and forms. If we do not receive these in time, your funding may be delayed or temporarily suspended, and you may need to pay for any additional sessions your child attends.
Funded hours cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another child.
Nursery Fees
2 Years Old
- Half day = £25.50
- Full day = £51
3 Years Old
- Half day = £18
- Full day = £39
Funding is available for up to 15 hours of childcare per week for 2 year olds whose families meet the following criteria:
Bedford Borough Council
In addition to 15 hours of universal childcare, working parents are eligible for the extended 15 hours of childcare. This combines to make 30 hours of funded childcare. This excludes lunch periods where a £15 per week charge is made on all 30 hour funded places.

Funding for Working Parents of 3 to 4 Year Olds | Bedfordshire Borough
You will be asked to set up an account to check online if you are eligible for the funding. If you are, then you will be sent a letter from the council with a code that you need to bring into school.
