Reception 2026

We are delighted to congratulate you on securing your child’s place at Queen’s Park Academy! This is a very special milestone, and we are so pleased that you have chosen to begin your child’s educational journey with us. At Queen’s Park Academy, we are committed to creating a nurturing, inspiring environment where every child feels valued, confident, and excited to learn. We look forward to working closely with you over the coming months to ensure a smooth and happy transition into Reception, and to welcoming your family into our school community. The information below has been provided to give you a clear overview and support you as you prepare for your child’s start with us.

You will receive your offer from the Bedford Borough Local Authority. To accept the place, simply follow the instructions in your offer letter or email. Once you have accepted, the Local Authority will confirm this with us and we will contact you directly with next steps.

You will receive a Welcome Pack from us shortly after Offer Day. This will include:

  • Admission form details
  • Medical and dietary information forms
  • Home-school agreement
  • Uniform information
  • Permissions forms (photos, trips, etc.)

We will send you a full induction timeline shortly, but the main events are:

July 2026 Home visits (for children not attending QPA Nursery)
31st August 2026 School INSET Day
1st September 2026 School INSET Day
2nd September 2026 Stay and Play Sessions (check your welcome letter for time slot)
3rd September 2026 - 8.40am - 12pm All chilldren in school
4th September 2026 - 8.40am - 1.15pm All children in school (children will stay for lunch)
3rd, 4th & 5th September 2026 Home Visits (for children attending QPA Nursery)
